I remember staying at the Chalet for 3 days while I was backpacking through Europe in January 2004. I had an amazing time there and felt right at home!
I was able to go paragliding and skiing one day for the very first time and it was an experience to remember! One of my fondest memories was one night eating a spaghetti dinner accompanied with many bottles of wine I will never forget it!
I stayed here in 2000 and then ended up living in Alaska…… Gryon is only second in the world to my life here, I rock climbed and had such a wonderful time.
I am feeling so nostalgic after finding your web site. My husband Justin and I spent Christmas/New Years at Chalet Martin in 2000/1. We remember it so fondly, such beauty, hospitality, great sense of international community and fun times. We hope to be able to bring our 2 children to visit some day.
I was there for 3 weeks in 2003 and i still think about it all the time.. this was such an amazing place.. i actually went there thinking i was just going to stay 3 days.. and i ended up staying 3 weeks.
for anyone wondering if this is worth the detour …it totally is.. just go with an open schedule cause you won’t want to leave.. I met some amazing people.. still keep in touch with some of them .. I hope to be back one day
I stayed there for a few days in 2003 and I still think about it all the time. I’ve traveled far and wide and have yet to experience the sense of community I found at Chalet Martin. I was there with a friend who was making her second visit and I hope to return again myself one day. If anyone is wondering if they should visit, the answer is a definite yes! You haven’t lived until you’ve hiked through the mountains for cheese to make a big fondue night with new friends.
Hey Guys! It has been about 6 years since I last saw Chalet Martin….I miss it very much and think about it often…..and I am planning to go back soon!!!!
What a wonderful place it is……….”home sweet home”…..

Wow, you have gone high tech…. it’s awesome! I miss Chalet Martin from when I use to live there… The wall around the fire pit that Uncles Matt, Dan, and Myself, looks good in the pics. I know it has been a while… hell 7 years since I was there. And it’s been since you two were here in Austin was the last time I’ve saw you… I am planning to come back sometime the summer or in the fall to visit again. I love the changes yet keeping the same wonderful look. This really was a place that was a vaction from your vacation! That’s how it suck me and so many other in! So many amazing memories of that place and all the frineds that I made while I was there. If you ever need some photos of the past, let me know. Miss you and look forward to seeing you again soon.
